Chengdu SKP 2024 "Happy Dragon" Spring Lantern Festival is stationed at Chengdu SKP, China's top luxury commercial landmark. Featuring intangible Zigong lantern art, the project lights up the high-end commercial Spring Festival scene and presents an ultimate oriental light and shadow feast for the city's New Year celebration. As an important sub-venue of the 53rd Chengdu International Panda Lantern Festival, it breaks the stereotypes of traditional intangible cultural heritage lanterns, perfectly integrating the thousand-year-old Zigong lantern craftsmanship with international high-end fashion aesthetics. It has become a benchmark case for the innovative combination of high-end commercial art installation and traditional culture.
The lantern exhibition officially ran from February 7 to March 10, covering the entire Spring Festival and Lantern Festival holiday period, with a total visitor volume of 600,000 to 800,000 person-times throughout the whole exhibition period, effectively activating the commercial vitality of the mall during the New Year season.

Centered on the Year of the Dragon theme, the project balances luxury texture and festive atmosphere, perfectly fitting the minimalist and high-end spatial tone of Chengdu SKP. Abandoning the heavy and retro traditional shapes, the lantern sets adopt a lightweight and artistic design style with trendy and delicate outlines. The overall installation consists of 6 to 8 large-scale main lantern groups including cute dragon-themed lanterns, traditional fish lanterns, giant floral lanterns and paper crane light installations, as well as dozens of small and medium-sized atmospheric lantern groups such as decorative flower lanterns, festive lanterns and immersive light and shadow devices. We created a variety of exquisite installations with soft and advanced color matching and smooth lines. The lanterns are scattered in the Flower Spring Square and block passages of the mall, naturally integrating into the luxury business atmosphere. They build an immersive light and shadow scene full of festive vibes and artistic aesthetics, realizing a seamless match between traditional intangible heritage and modern high-end commercial spaces.

Project Highlights
1. Intangible Heritage Empowering High-end Business: As a benchmark project of Zigong lanterns' high-end localized application and global promotion, this project brings thousand-year traditional lantern craftsmanship out of folk temple fairs and into China's top luxury shopping mall. It renews public perception of Zigong lanterns and realizes the fashionable and high-end transformation of traditional intangible cultural heritage craftsmanship.
2. Integrated Chinese and Western Aesthetics: While inheriting the core advantages of traditional handmade Zigong lanterns — exquisite shapes and penetrating light effects, the project caters to the fashion aesthetics of international top luxury business districts. It weakens the heavy folk style and interprets oriental aesthetics with modern and minimalist artistic language, enabling traditional Chinese festive culture to coexist harmoniously with international fashion luxury brands.
3. Innovative Commercial Scene Activation: Combining static artistic lantern installations with commercial and festive scenarios, it breaks the monotonous traditional art installation mode of high-end malls. The immersive intangible heritage light and shadow experience enriches consumer scenarios, boosts passenger flow for high-end commercial venues, and achieves multiple upgrades of artistic value, brand value and commercial value.
